# Liverpool: Fans did not like Danny Mills’ claims about Jurgen Klopp’s successes

**Former England international and now talkSPORT pundit Danny Mills has insisted that Jurgen Klopp has only won one trophy of significance as Liverpool manager.**

The radio station’s Twitter channel [@talkSPORT](https://twitter.com/talkSPORT/status/1181804734438502400) shared a clip of Mills’ comments in which he said that the UEFA Super Cup, which the Reds claimed in August following their Champions League triumph last season, is “[not a proper trophy](https://twitter.com/talkSPORT/status/1181804734438502400)“.

Mills told [talkSPORT](https://twitter.com/talkSPORT/status/1181804734438502400): “It’s like the Community Shield. It’s not a proper trophy, is it? Come on, let’s be honest. How many players, at the end of the season, go: ‘Oh yeah, I won the Super Cup’ or ‘I won the Community Shield’?

“I don’t think there’s any serious footballers or managers, well maybe Mourinho, that take that as a serious trophy.”

Klopp took the reins at Liverpool [four years ago yesterday](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jurgen-klopp/profil/trainer/118) but had to wait until this year for his [first piece of silverware at Anfield](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jurgen-klopp/erfolge/trainer/118) as the Reds became [champions of Europe for a sixth time](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48368443), before adding the UEFA Super Cup after their [penalty shoot-out triumph over Chelsea](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/14/liverpool-chelsea-uefa-super-cup-match-report) in Istanbul two months ago in which [Adrian saved the decisive spot kick](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/14/liverpool-chelsea-uefa-super-cup-match-report).

Mills, who has won [19 England caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/danny-mills/profil/spieler/3743) and played for [Leeds and Manchester City, among other clubs](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/danny-mills/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/3743), won just one trophy in his career, the [League Cup in 2004 when he was with Middlesbrough](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/danny-mills/erfolge/spieler/3743).

These Liverpool fans on Twitter took umbrage with his degradation of the Reds’ UEFA Super Cup victory:
