# Liverpool: Fans disappointed to see Ryan Kent leaving for Rangers

**Rangers [completed the permanent signing of winger Ryan Kent from Liverpool](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49552351) yesterday, having [had the player on loan from the Reds last season](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/rangers-sign-ryan-kent/).**

Liverpool’s official Twitter account [@LFC](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1168660037897805830) confirmed the news of the 22-year-old’s permanent departure from Anfield late last night after the deal was completed.

Kent [made his debut for Liverpool’s first team in an FA Cup tie at Exeter](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279457/verein/31) in January 2016 but that was his [only senior competitive appearance for the Reds](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/279457), despite getting game time in [five pre-season friendlies this summer](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/295922/Show/Ryan-Kent).

He had no fewer than five loan moves away from Anfield, going to [Coventry](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/signing-ryan-kent-coventry-city-liverpool-2679255.aspx), [Barnsley](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/229278-ryan-kent-makes-loan-move-to-barnsley), [Freiburg](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/273896-ryan-kent-joins-sc-freiburg-on-season-long-loan), [Bristol City](https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/city-loan-in-liverpool-s-kent/) and Rangers.

He impressed at Ibrox in 2018/19, [scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 43 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279457), as well as being named [PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48171966) and making it into the [PFA Scotland Team of the Year](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48171966).

These Liverpool fans on Twitter seemed disappointed at Kent’s departure from the club:

> Finally, the time has come.\
> I kept on checking and expecting him.\
> No matter who says what, I’m so sad…\
> But I know he’s gonna shine at his new home Ibrox. Best wishes Kenty.
