# Liverpool: Fans drool as James Pearce reveals another record on the horizon

**Liverpool fans have got excited over the prospect of breaking another record during their sensational 2019/20 campaign.**

The Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to 16 points on Sunday after overcoming Manchester United [2-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51170284) at Anfield, thanks to goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah either side of half-time. Jurgen Klopp’s side broke the record for claiming the most points over the first 21 games, which Liverpool managed to achieve with 61 (according to [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-premier-league-records-broken-17551591)) and have the opportunity to equal 11 more, as per [Football 365](https://www.football365.com/news/the-22-records-liverpool-can-at-least-equal-this-season). However, [James Pearce](https://twitter.com/jamespearcelfc/status/1219264095544922113?s=12) of The Athletic revealed yet another accolade that the Merseysiders could reach this season.

> The records keep on coming. If [#LFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/LFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) win at West Ham next week it will be the first time in the club’s top-flight history that they have beaten every other team in the division in the same season.

The German tactician’s side could become the first team in top-flight history to beat every single team in the division in the same season. The news got supporters very excited and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan emphasised that they have two chances to do it as they still have to play West Ham twice this season.
