# Liverpool: Fans drool over links with Nikola Milenkovic

**Many Liverpool fans have been reacting in their droves to links with Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.**

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist [Max Bielefield on Twitter](https://twitter.com/Sky_MaxB/status/1363896325318787075), both Liverpool and Manchester United have contacted the Serie A club about the 23-year-old’s services.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to repair the damage that has been inflicted on his defensive department during the 2020/21 campaign – due to a huge number of injuries.

This season, Milenkovic has averaged 3.5 aerial duels won per match which is [better than](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/26/Show/England-Liverpool) any Liverpool player. As well as this, he has amassed 3.2 clearances, 1.6 tackles and only been dispossessed 0.1 times, which illustrates a remarkable level of composure ([Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/319785/Show/Nikola-Milenkovic)).

With this in mind, supporters were delighted with the rumours and urged the Merseysiders to go in and sign him during the summer. Valued at £25.2m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-milenkovic/profil/spieler/413507), Liverpool will be expected to pay substantially more than that.
