# Liverpool: Fans ecstatic as Ibrahima Konate agrees personal terms

**Many Liverpool fans have been sharing their excitement following a report from [Anfield Central](https://www.anfieldcentral.co.uk/posts/ibrahima-konate-will-receive-major-pay-increase-with-move-to-liverpool/) that Ibrahima Konate has agreed personal terms with the club.**

This report has since been shared on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1380658565287907334), which prompted a lot of excitement among some of the Anfield faithful.

Michael Edwards is still reportedly trying to negotiate with RB Leipzig over the payment structure of Konate’s transfer fee, as [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ibrahima-konate/profil/spieler/357119) currently rate him at £31.5m.

The central defender emerged as a [transfer target](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumours/liverpool-fans-hail-transfer-target-ibrahima-konate/) for the Merseysiders in the January window, and it looks as if they have not ended their pursuit, with seemingly just a fee to negotiate as the personal terms are already agreed.

Nonetheless, Konate could certainly be a long-term solution for Jurgen Klopp’s side in terms of partnering Virgil Van Dijk, and offers some stability at the heart of the defence.
