# Liverpool: Fans fed up with Takumi Minamino’s lack of progress

**Many Liverpool fans were fuming with midfielder Takumi Minamino after reports suggested that he needs to do more to impress Jurgen Klopp in training.**

This was according to The Athletic journalist [James Pearce](https://theathletic.co.uk/2334865/2021/01/24/liverpool-manchester-united-score-soccer-football-2/), who revealed that Klopp simply overlooked Minamino for his side’s [3-2](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/55772667) defeat against Manchester United and that he had not picked up an injury.

Minamino has been at Anfield for 12 months and has only scored [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/takumi-minamino/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/165793) goals from [31](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/takumi-minamino/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/165793) appearances in all competitions, following his [£7.25m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11890345/takumi-minamino-liverpool-sign-red-bull-salzburg-midfielder) move from Red Bull Salzburg.

During that timeframe, he has received [scrutiny](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/liverpool-fans-not-impressed-with-takumi-minamino-valuation/) from segments of the Kop faithful for not hitting the ground running on Merseyside.

With this in mind, supporters have run out of patience for Minamino, with some bizarrely suggesting that he should be offloaded.
