# Liverpool: Fans fume at Neil Jones update

**A number of Liverpool supporters are fuming after journalist Neil Jones claimed next summer could be a big one at Anfield, rather than this year.**

Jurgen Klopp has brought in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, but the hope from fans is clearly that more signings will arrive in the coming weeks.

There is a feeling that Liverpool’s squad needs bolstering in order to compete with Manchester City’s, as the Reds fell so far short of their new rivals last term due in part to a whole raft of injuries.

Someone who has offered a slightly worrying update on this summer is [*Goal*](https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/no-saul-chiesa-liverpool-ignore-midfield-forward-signings/qtb6rmtys4ezsfc6apdilwu) journalist Jones \[via [*LFC Transfer Room*](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1420652947541737475?s=20) on Twitter\], who claims next summer could be one that sees big additions made.

While that may sound exciting, it arguably hints towards this being a muted transfer window in comparison, which is unlikely to please the masses.
