# Liverpool: Fans furious with Thiago Alcantara following Leicester defeat

**Many Liverpool fans were fuming with midfielder Thiago Alcantara during his side’s [3-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55960005) defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.**

The Foxes took full advantage’s of the Reds second-half capitulation, as Jurgen Klopp’s side left a 1-0 lead slip with a goalkeeping error from Alisson Becker for the second game running.

Thiago arrived from Bayern Munich last summer and was singled out for giving away a free-kick which led to Leicester’s equaliser midway through the second half.

Per [SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-leicester-city/GU), the Spaniard was dribbled past twice, lost out on seven ground duels and failed to make any key passes.

Liverpool’s number six is slowly [growing a reputation](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/thiago-liverpool-fouls-yellow-card-23458765) similar to Manchester United’s Paul Scholes, who was well known for being a poor tackler of the ball. Some fans brought a similar analogy up as you can see below.

### Thiago not impressed these fans

**“I love Thiago but he doesn’t add anything to that game. Gives away silly fouls which end up to cost us a goal today. Something needs to change #LFC”**

**“Absolutely awful. Nothing in the final third, Thiago nonexistent except petty poor tackles. Jones best player on pitch hauled off. Then Allison, well. No desire. #LFC”**

**“Thiago is more of a liability through his defending than a benefit through his attacking at the moment. #liverpool #lfc”**

**“This season shows how good VVD really is. Also, Thiago has been a disaster. Bayern is better without him, #LFC is garbage with him. He has no place in this squad and they don’t know how to play with him. #YNWA”**

**“It really pains me to say this too: Thiago has been nothing short of a disaster so far for #LFC, a complete liability. I’m sure he will come good but at the moment he is costing us games.”**

**“Thiago is the most overhyped player we have ever signed not having any of him #LFC”**
