# Liverpool: Fans gasp as Divock Origi starts vs Burnley

**Many Liverpool fans questioned Jurgen Klopp’s decision to start Divock Origi in Thursday night’s Premier League encounter against Burnley.**

The German tactician [made four changes](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1352330162310938634) to the side that drew [0-0](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3411534/lineup/liverpool-vs-manchester-united) against Manchester United last time out, with Joel Matip making his highly anticipated return to the backline.

But the talking point was with Divock Origi featuring ahead of Takumi Minamino, with Xherdan Shaqiri and Sadio Mane making up the [front three](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1352330162310938634) in what was a must-win game for Liverpool.

This was Origi’s [first league start](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/124688/Show/Divock-Origi) of the season as he has been ostracised from the first-team. As a result, he has been linked with several clubs this month and could well leave Anfield after a [seven-year](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28551650) stay, amidst links to [Wolves](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9096835/Exodus-outcasts-unwanted-Premier-League-stars-January.html) and [Inter Milan](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/news/calcio/serie-a/inter/2021/01/20-78354895/inter_una_punta_last_minute_per_conte).

After receiving [waves of criticism](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumours/liverpool-fans-rejoice-as-divock-origi-bound-for-anfield-exit/) in recent months, supporters were not impressed that the Belgium international was starting, with one fan suggesting that the Reds were already playing as if they had a man sent off.
