# Liverpool: Fans hail Caoimhin Kelleher after final Champions League group game

**Plenty of Liverpool fans loved what they saw from goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher after his side’s [1-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55221508) draw against FC Midtjylland on Wednesday evening.**

The Reds were forced to share the spoils in Denmark in what was a highly controversial evening involving officiating and VAR, with Takumi Minamino denied a last-minute winner after Sadio Mane was judged to have handled the ball.

Kelleher stood in once more for the injured Alisson, who was deemed not fit enough to start this game, and he put in a similarly impressive performance once again which [replicated his efforts](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9030029/Caoimhin-Kelleher-reveals-Liverpool-No-1-Alisson-texted-say-proud-starring-v-Ajax.html) against Ajax.

[Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-fc-midtjylland/UsOA) recorded that he made five saves inside the penalty area and made two punches from crosses out wide, asserting his dominance despite being just 22 years old.

With this in mind, supporters were delighted in what they saw, with some suggesting that he possesses characteristics similar to both Alisson and Atletico Madrid star Jan Oblak.

### Fans laud Kelleher

> Very calm and collected. I see the Alisson in him.
