# Liverpool: Fans lambast Sadio Mane’s performance

**A number of Liverpool fans have been bemoaning Sadio Mane’s performance against Real Madrid, wondering what has happened to the Reds superstar.**

The Premier League champions suffered a damaging 3-1 loss to the Spanish giants on Tuesday night, leaving their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.

There were poor performers all over the pitch, with Naby Keita substituted before half-time and the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum also off the boil.

Mane was arguably as bad as anyone, however, as the Senegalese’s awful run of form continues this season, having been such a key performer last term.

The 28-year-old offered almost no attacking threat of any note and ended up turning into trouble and hopelessly looking to win soft free-kicks, growing increasingly frustrated.

He lost possession 14 times and won zero of his six aerial duels, per [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-real-madrid/UsEgb).
