# Liverpool: Fans lambaste Roberto Firmino during Leicester City clash

**Many Liverpool fans flocked to social media to criticise forward Roberto Firmino during his side’s Premier League encounter against Leicester City.**

The 29-year-old [started alongside](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3411433/lineup/liverpool-vs-leicester-city) new signing Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, with Mohamed Salah missing out after contracting coronavirus while on international duty.

Firmino has received [intense scrutiny](https://talksport.com/football/785413/jurgen-klopp-roberto-firmino-liverpool-thiago/) in recent months after a slow start to the 2020/21 campaign, and only scored one goal at Anfield last season when they won their first league title in 30 years (via [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53412782)).

On the back of this, manager Jurgen Klopp asserted that he was “embarrassed” to have to defend Firmino and added that he “cannot help” those that scrutinise him (cited by [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/785413/jurgen-klopp-roberto-firmino-liverpool-thiago/)).

Despite this, supporters were not impressed with what he saw, with some suggesting that he should be brought off at half-time.

### Fans not impressed with Firmino
