# Liverpool: Fans let rip at Mark Clattenburg after comments made about Jurgen Klopp

**Many Liverpool fans slated former referee Mark Clattenburg after his recent jibe towards manager Jurgen Klopp.**

Writing in his [MailOnline](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9144113/MARK-CLATTENBURG-Stop-hypocrite-Jurgen-guys-dive-too.html) column, the 45-year-old branded the German tactician as a ‘hypocrite’ when referring to his complaints towards Manchester United getting penalties. But interestingly added that there was an aura around the Red Devils when Sir Alex Ferguson was there – but not anymore.

This comes after Liverpool’s [1-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55463017) defeat to Southampton earlier this month, when Klopp was left [frustrated](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/55540016) about two penalty decisions that did not go his way on the night.

The Reds are currently second in the Premier League table behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, with a crunch clash pencilled in this Sunday between the two teams at Anfield.
