# Liverpool: Fans love Ibrahima Konate’s Twitter post

**Some Liverpool fans have already fallen in love with the club’s new signing Ibrahima Konate following a brilliant social media post from the centre-back.**

The Reds [agreed a deal](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/435628-liverpool-agree-deal-to-sign-ibrahima-konate-from-rb-leipzig) for the Frenchman at the end of May, bringing him in from RB Leipzig after some impressive performances for the Bundesliga outfit.

Liverpool suffered a [horrendous season in the centre-back department](https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-injuries-which-players-are-out-when-will-they/180055299z10c110h1epjsvvad) last time around, so the hope is that Konate helps alleviate that issue from the off in 2021/22.

At 22, he looks a player of immense promise and he could end up being a genuine force at Anfield as the year pass and Virgil van Dijk drifts past his peak. Indeed, he has even [won glowing comparisons](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/who-is-ibrahima-konate-liverpool-fc-transfer-injury-record-stats-style-b926837.html) to the imperious Dutch defender, with whom he may forge a sturdy partnership in the coming months.
