# Liverpool: Fans loved the banter between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson

**Liverpool fans [loved](https://twitter.com/andrewrobertso5/status/1197566229474611200?s=12) a social media post that was made by Andy Robertson about his fullback counterpart Trent Alexander-Arnold.**

The duo have formed a strong [bond](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7094737/Dynamic-duo-Alexander-Arnold-Robertson-superheroes-Liverpool-again.html) within Jurgen Klopp’s side since their respective introductions into the team, with the Scotsman joining in 2017 for [£8m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40666486) from Hull City and the Englishman coming through the [ranks](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/trent-alexander-arnold-liverpool-unique-qualities-mattladson-this-is-anfield) at Melwood.

Both players were in active competition with each other last season to score the most assists in the Premier League last season and were always making [comments](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1202857/liverpool-andrew-robertson-alexander-arnold-assist-man-city) to each other in the media about their personal goals within the side.

Alexander-Arnold had the last laugh during the 2018/19 campaign with [12](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/353277-watch-free-robertson-alexander-arnold-premier-league-assists) assists, both players combined 23 assists which were [unprecedented](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/353277-watch-free-robertson-alexander-arnold-premier-league-assists) levels for defenders in terms of creating goals.

Their relationship shows how close they are on and off the pitch after what Robertson said on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/andrewrobertso5/status/1197566229474611200?s=12).
