# Liverpool: Fans mock Zinedine Zidane after his comments about the Reds

**Liverpool fans have been [reacting](https://twitter.com/anfieldwatch/status/1205024132674576384?s=12) to Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s comments on the Merseyside club, saying that his team would beat them if they came up against each other in the Champions League.**

The Spanish giants secured their ticket into the last 16 of the competition after a [3-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50749103) victory against Club Brugge, finishing runners-up in Group A to French side Paris Saint-Germain.

The Reds’ [2-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50667332) win away at RB Salzburg meant that Jurgen Klopp’s men finished top of Group E ahead of Napoli.

Zidane was feeling confident about the possibility of a repeat of the Champions League final in [Kyiv](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44258022), making the following remarks about Liverpool.

> Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has no concerns over who they will face in the knockout stages in the Champions League – even Liverpool.

Salzburg striker Erling Haaland made [comments](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/erling-haaland-fires-warning-liverpool-21058432) of a similar nature, that he turned out regretting after going out of the competition at the group stage at the hands of Klopp’s team.

Supporters were quick to warn Zidane after what has happened in recent years to other sides, making their feelings clear on social media.
