# Liverpool: Fans not happy with Bobby Duncan’s agent Saif Rubie over Instagram post

**Bobby Duncan was among the players to change clubs on Serie A’s transfer deadline day, joining Fiorentina from Liverpool for an initial £1.7m, as reported by [The Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/liverpool-transfer-news-bobby-duncan-fiorentina-mental-bullying-a9089481.html).**

After the deal was concluded, the striker’s agent Saif Rubie shared an [Instagram post](https://www.instagram.com/p/B18p4lMj-iq/?utm_source=ig_embed) in which he claimed that he and Duncan are “[in the top 1%](https://www.instagram.com/p/B18p4lMj-iq/?utm_source=ig_embed)” and added: “[That’s what leaders do.](https://www.instagram.com/p/B18p4lMj-iq/?utm_source=ig_embed)”

Independent Liverpool website [This Is Anfield](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2019/09/bobby-duncans-agent-claims-they-are-in-the-top-1-after-sealing-fiorentina-move/) subsequently posted about Rubie’s comments on their Twitter channel [@thisisanfield](https://twitter.com/thisisanfield/status/1168889236008910848).

Last week, the agent released a strongly-worded statement in which he accused Liverpool of “[mentally bullying](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/28/liverpool-bobby-duncan-deny-mentally-bullying-agent)” 18-year-old striker Duncan, claiming that the club’s [rejection of loan offers from Fiorentina and Nordsjaelland](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpools-intentions-bobby-duncan-transfer-16821065) had caused the player so much stress that he stayed in his room for four days. \[[via The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/28/liverpool-bobby-duncan-deny-mentally-bullying-agent)\]

Liverpool refuted Rubie’s comments in a statement in which they condemned “[unfounded allegations](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11796270/liverpool-reject-bullying-criticism-from-bobby-duncans-agent)” and “[inaccurate speculation](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11796270/liverpool-reject-bullying-criticism-from-bobby-duncans-agent)” relating to their stance on Duncan, as reported by [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11796270/liverpool-reject-bullying-criticism-from-bobby-duncans-agent).

These Liverpool fans took to Twitter to criticise Rubie over what he said on Instagram:
