# Liverpool: Fans not impressed with Trent Alexander-Arnold after Newcastle stalemate

**Many Liverpool fans scrutinised right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold after his side were held to a [0-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55420341) draw against Newcastle United.**

It was a frustrating night for Jurgen Klopp’s team on Tyneside as they were thwarted by Magpies goalkeeper Karl Darlow on numerous occasions.

Whilst the Reds kept plucking away to no avail, Alexander-Arnold was at the centrefold of that effort, but found himself largely unsuccessful.

Per [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-newcastle-united/OU), the England international lost possession 31 times, won one duel and only completed two crosses out of 13.

Because of this, supporters were critical of the 22-year-old, who some suggested should be dropped in favour of Neco Williams.
