The Reds have picked up from where they left off last term, and heading into their game against Manchester United on Sunday, they have actually won 17 league matches in a row (via [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool/liverpool-21-leicester-james-milner-scores-injury-time-penalty-to-help-reds-extend-winning-streak-a4254986.html)).

There have been several standout performers so far for Jurgen Klopp’s side, including Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum.

The 28-year-old has been an ever-present for Liverpool so far this term, starting in all eight of their league matches and in one of their two Champions League fixtures (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/georginio-wijnaldum/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/49499/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

He brings [lots of energy](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wijnaldum-liverpool-barcelona-champions-league-16220481) to the Reds midfield and also chipped in with a vital winning goal against Sheffield United to maintain their winning streak (via [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49778507)).

Wijnaldum has also played a starring role for his country this season, starting all four of their Euro 2020 qualifiers since September, scoring three goals and providing an assist (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/georginio-wijnaldum/nationalmannschaft/spieler/49499)).

The Dutchman posted on his [official Twitter account](https://twitter.com/GWijnaldum/status/1184506121366790144) recently to say that it has been a brilliant start to the campaign, but also insisting that there is still work to do to make it a memorable one.

In response, several Reds fans were quick to praise Wijnaldum’s form and also his desire to ensure that levels don’t drop…
