# Liverpool: Fans delighted as Harry Wilson scores first Cardiff goal

**Plenty of [Liverpool](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/liverpool/) fans offered their congratulations to the Reds’ on-loan winger [Harry Wilson](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumours/harry-wilson-loan-twitter-talk/) after scoring his first goal for his new club Cardiff City last night.**

The 23-year-old recently [made the switch](https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-winger-wilson-set-for-cardiff-loan-as-kane-prepares-to-/17w5hjfq6di3p1r8gg3ji1v9hp#:~:text=Cardiff%20are%20set%20to%20sign,finalised%20before%20Friday's%20transfer%20deadline.) to south Wales on another season-long loan following a spell with Bournemouth during the 2019/20 campaign, when he was [unable](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53460590#:~:text=Bournemouth's%20five%2Dyear%20stay%20in,were%20relegated%20to%20the%20Championship.) to help them retain their Premier League status.

Wilson has become something of a free-kick specialist over the years, scoring memorable strikes for the [Cherries](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Iyx8JxohEI) and, most notably, for Derby County at [Old Trafford](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11696/11509383/harry-wilsons-stunning-carabao-cup-free-kick-against-manchester-united-explained) against the Reds’ arch-rivals Manchester United.

These two strikes have contributed to his 34 goals at senior level ([TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/279455)) but the Welshman still finds himself locked out of Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Understandably, many Liverpool supporters were quick to applaud Wilson after his goal last night as his side drew [1-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54534117) with Bournemouth at the Cardiff City Stadium.
