# Liverpool: Fans question Andrew Robertson’s omission from Ballon d’Or shortlist

**Many Liverpool fans have expressed dissatisfaction at the list of nominees for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, despite the Reds having the highest representation of any club on the 30-man shortlist with seven nominees, as per [France Football](https://www.francefootball.fr/news/Les-dix-lecons-a-retenir-de-la-liste-des-30-du-ballon-d-or-france-football-2019/1072160).**

Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino [all made the shortlist](https://www.francefootball.fr/diaporama/La-liste-complete-des-30-nommes-pour-le-ballon-d-or-france-football-2019/7757/#1), with the two defenders and the Dutch midfielder [receiving their first nominations for the award](https://www.francefootball.fr/news/Les-dix-lecons-a-retenir-de-la-liste-des-30-du-ballon-d-or-france-football-2019/1072160).

However, one of the Reds who didn’t make the list was Andrew Robertson, the left-back having also been omitted from the [FIFA FIFPro Men’s World11](https://www.fifa.com/the-best-fifa-football-awards/fifa-fifpro-mens-world11/) at The Best FIFA Football Awards in Milan last month.

The Scotland international played a significant role for Liverpool as they won the Champions League last season, his tally of [13 assists in all competitions the joint-second highest in the Reds’ squad](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/liverpool-fc/leistungsdaten/verein/31/reldata/%262018/plus/1), and he has [a goal and three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrew-robertson/leistungsdaten/spieler/234803) to his name already this term.

The 25-year-old has won plenty of acclaim for his performances at Anfield, with former Manchester United and Everton player Phil Neville calling him the best left-back in the world earlier this year, as per [The Scotsman](https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/international/scotland-and-liverpool-ace-andy-robertson-best-left-back-in-the-world-says-neville-1-4886956).

These Liverpool fans on Twitter were left aghast at Robertson’s omission from the Ballon d’Or shortlist:

> Robertson definitely deserves to be on the shortlist. Easily the best left back in the World last season.
