# Liverpool: Fans question decision to stick with Origi after Minamino goal

**Many Liverpool fans were incensed with manager Jurgen Klopp regarding his decision to loan out midfielder Takumi Minamino and stick with striker Divock Origi.**

The 26-year-old completed a loan move to Southampton until the end of the 2020/21 campaign and got himself [on the scoresheet](https://twitter.com/LFC_Vines/status/1358076129802940418) in his first outing with a well taken left-footed finish inside the 18-yard box against Newcastle on Saturday.

On the other hand, Origi has [not started](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/124688/MatchStatistics/Divock-Origi) a Premier League game and has [failed to score](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/124688/MatchStatistics/Divock-Origi) any goals this season, with his Japanese teammate having [netted](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55268080) against Crystal Palace before the turn of the year.

To make things worse, the Belgium international has not scored a competitive goal in the league since his side’s [3-1](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368/plus/0?saison=2019) win against Newcastle United last season and has only played [179](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/26/Show/England-Liverpool) minutes of football so far this term.

As a result, this has lead to questions from confused supporters as to what Klopp sees in him, and why Minamino was sent out on loan after his debut strike.
