# Liverpool: Fans question Michael Oliver’s stoppage time decision from win over Chelsea

**Liverpool shared a clip from the weekend’s [2-1 win over Chelsea](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49705147) on their official Twitter channel [@LFC](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1176422771334758400) highlighting a moment from the last minute of the game.**

> Last minute. We’re under pressure. Then Robbo does THIS

The clip shows Andrew Robertson making a timely interception on the edge of the penalty area and bringing the ball out with him from the back, running half the length of the pitch past three Chelsea players before being scythed down by Marcos Alonso. \[[via @LFC](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1176422771334758400)\]

[Referee Michael Oliver](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49705147) called play back for a foul and [booked Alonso](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1375994/Live/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Chelsea-Liverpool), even though the ball had [rolled to a Liverpool player in Roberto Firmino](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1176422771334758400) after Robertson was stopped in his tracks.

The [Scotland international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrew-robertson/profil/spieler/234803)‘s breakaway came at a time when the Reds were under renewed pressure from a Chelsea side chasing a late equaliser – the Blues had three shots in the final five minutes, as many as Liverpool had in the entire second half, while the home side had nine shots to the visitors’ one from the 47th minute onward. \[[via WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1375994/Live/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Chelsea-Liverpool)\]

These Liverpool fans on Twitter felt that Oliver should have played the advantage rather than blow for a foul on Robertson:

> How did the ref blow the whistle here

> why did the ref not play advantage. apparently there in our pocket so surely they would have given us that.

> How was that not played advantage by ref?? Clear opportunity for Bobby with Mo ahead of him.

> Great run. The ref should have played the advantage and only then booked Alonso. We just might have scored a third one.
