# Liverpool: Fans rage over club post to Loris Karius

**Liverpool FC have wished a happy birthday to Loris Karius, but a lot of fans are sick of the bad memories they are reminded of.**

The German shot-stopper has had a rollercoaster of a career in red, [signing for the club](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36374180) in 2016 and going on to become an extremely controversial figure after just two seasons.

Every fan will remember Karius’ nightmare game against Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final. However, the supporters are divided over whether they can forgive him or not. Since his infamous blunders, he has been on loan with Besiktas, with whom he has also had a rocky ride with. Karius reportedly terminated his contract earlier this year after the Turkish side withheld wages from him (via [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/karius-terminates-loan-deal-besiktas-pay-dispute/qs8xkbbdhyxt15zxgrcrat4uu)).

In response to the club’s tweet, one Kopite has raged ‘Never tweet anything connected with this fella’. The fan is evidently still harbouring bitter feelings towards the 27-year-old, who was at fault for [two of Madrid’s three goals](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44258022) in Kyiv.
