# Liverpool: Fans rave about Roberto Firmino after Salzburg performance

**It was an eventful night for Liverpool on Wednesday as they eventually overcame Red Bull Salzburg, beating the Austrian outfit [4-3](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49874345).**

A few of the Reds players were not at their best on the night, particularly defensively as they were pegged back from 3-0 up to 3-3.

However, one man who did deliver a positive performance which helped them get all three points was Roberto Firmino.

Whilst the Brazilian striker didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet, he did provide assists for three of the four goals on the night, including Mohamed Salah’s winner (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3252171)).

All things considered, this game perfectly highlighted why he is so important to Liverpool.

He is one of the most unselfish strikers around and instead of constantly shooting at goal, he often will provide a killer pass instead which leads to one of his teammates scoring. This is backed up by the fact that he already has [seven assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roberto-firmino/leistungsdaten/spieler/131789) to his name this season in just 11 appearances.

Having him in the team allows Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to get the amount of goals that they do, and the Liverpool fans certainly understand the importance of Firmino.

After the game against Red Bull Salzburg, plenty of Reds fans took to social media to praise to the Brazilian’s performance. Here is what some of them had to say…
