# Liverpool: Fans react as Anfield club linked with Erling Haaland

**Many Liverpool fans reacted in delight after links emerged regarding Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.**

According to [Eurosport](https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/transfers/2020-2021/erling-haaland-chelsea-growing-more-confident-of-winning-transfer-race-transfer-notebook_sto8145252/story.shtml), the Reds are in the picture to capture the 20-year-old centre-forward next summer and are set to compete alongside Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid for his signature, a report which was shared by the [Anfield Watch Twitter account](https://twitter.com/AnfieldWatch/status/1364595000483446784?s=20).

Haaland burst onto the scene with his former side FC Salzburg in his very first Champions League appearance – scoring a hat-trick and becoming the third-youngest player to do so on his first continental outing (via [Opta](https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1174048261814063105?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1174048261814063105%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftalksport.com%2Ffootball%2F603018%2Fred-bull-salzburg-erling-haland-genk-salzburg%2F)).
