# Liverpool: Fans speculate as Reds increase their offer for Thiago Alcantara

**Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their attempts to sign Thiago Alcantara in this transfer window.**

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with the Merseyside outfit for several months now. However, talks appeared to have stagnated even after the midfielder said goodbye to his teammates at Bayern Munich.

The new Champions League title holders were looking for a [transfer fee of £26.6m](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumours/liverpool-fans-excited-over-new-update-on-thiago-transfer/) for Thiago, an amount Liverpool that were yet to meet.

However, according to Varsky Sports (relayed via [@LFCTransferRoom](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1304113509010206723)), Jurgen Klopp’s side have reportedly increased their offer for the midfielder. Liverpool have now tabled a bid of €30m (£27.5m) in order to see the move over the line.

Many of the Anfield faithful have naturally rushed to the comments section of this update to discuss whether Thiago could finally be on his way to Merseyside. One fan has pleaded with Bayern to ‘accept the offer’, whilst another has similarly urged Liverpool to ‘get it done’.
