# Liverpool fans react as Sadio Mane signs new contract

**Yesterday, it was announced. The news every Liverpool fan has been eagerly awaiting for months. Sadio Mane has committed himself to a new long-term contract with the Reds.**

The 26-year-old’s new deal means he will be contracted at Anfield until the summer of 2023, like the forwards he has struck up a deadly partnership with, that being Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino – the trio scored a staggering 91 goals between them in all competitions last season, and already have 19 as a front line this time round as well.

And Senegal international Mane has contributed to eight of them – seven scored and one assisted – in just 16 appearances this season in all competitions, and that is good going considering the fact he has not been at his best throughout the campaign so far.

Unsurprisingly, Mane’s new agreement has stimulated a hugely positive reaction from Liverpudlians on Twitter, with it safe to say that plenty of them were absolutely overjoyed with the news…

And there was even a special mention for their sporting director Michael Edwards for the role he played in penning Mane down to a new deal…
