# Liverpool: Fans react as Takumi Minamino linked with another loan move

**Southampton have reportedly made enquiries into the potential loan signing of Liverpool winger Takumi Minamino, according to [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/923646/southampton-want-re-sign-alex-oxlade-chamberlain-on-loan-liverpool-transfer-news/).**

The Japan international spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan with the Saints and scored [two goals in ten appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/takumi-minamino/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/165793) for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side as they finished 15th in the Premier League table.

It appears as though he’s made a good impression on Southampton, who are [reportedly keen](https://talksport.com/football/923646/southampton-want-re-sign-alex-oxlade-chamberlain-on-loan-liverpool-transfer-news/) to agree a deal to sign Minamino for another spell at St Mary’s this term.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool are willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old at this stage of the transfer window as Jurgen Klopp prepares for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Minamino has been hailed as a ‘lively character’ by [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/campbell-minamino-could-be-a-sensation-at-southampton/) pundit Kevin Campbell but has struggled to make his mark at Anfield, scoring just [four times in 31 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/takumi-minamino/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/165793) and being limited to [four Premier League starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/262838/History/Takumi-Minamino) for the Reds since joining in [January 2020](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/takumi-minamino/transfers/spieler/165793).

Plenty of Liverpool supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on Southampton’s rumoured interest in signing Minamino, with some disparity among the reactions.
