# Liverpool: Fans react to club’s Nat Phillips demands

**Liverpool will allow Nat Phillips to leave in January for a fee of £12million, according to [The Liverpool Echo’s Paul Gorst](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1469216312564068353).**

Jurgen Klopp [told reporters on Friday](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/12/jurgen-klopp-does-not-expect-injury-to-block-january-transfer-for-nat-phillips/) that they are not planning to stand in Phillips’ way if the right offer arrived in the New Year.

The Reds [had demanded £15million](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-raphinha-bowen-january-transfer-22410544) for the centre-back during last summer’s transfer window.

But even though he [signed a new four-year deal](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-raphinha-bowen-january-transfer-22410544) in August, the club’s price tag has now fallen.

### Could injury threaten Phillips move?

Phillips made his [first start of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathaniel-phillips/leistungsdaten/spieler/371814) in Tuesday’s Champions League victory over AC Milan, with Liverpool already through to the Round of 16.

He sustained a fractured cheekbone in the 2-1 win, ruling him out of competitive action for [four to five weeks](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/12/jurgen-klopp-does-not-expect-injury-to-block-january-transfer-for-nat-phillips/).

However, Phillips can continue to [train individually](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/12/jurgen-klopp-does-not-expect-injury-to-block-january-transfer-for-nat-phillips/) to maintain fitness and Klopp [doesn’t expect](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/12/jurgen-klopp-does-not-expect-injury-to-block-january-transfer-for-nat-phillips/) the injury to scupper any potential move.
