# Liverpool: Fans react to comments from Otavio’s agent

**The agent of [reported Liverpool target](https://sportwitness.co.uk/players-agent-quizzed-potential-big-transfer-liverpool-says-reds-sign-player-deal-good-enough/) Otavio has been discussing the future of his client.**

Israel Oliveira told Portuguese newspaper A Bola that the 26-year-old could leave Porto this summer [‘if it’s good for Porto and for Otavio’](https://sportwitness.co.uk/players-agent-quizzed-potential-big-transfer-liverpool-says-reds-sign-player-deal-good-enough/).

Otavio has a €60m (£51.43m) release clause but the Liga NOS runners-up are in need of an influx of cash and will accept a [‘fair’](https://sportwitness.co.uk/players-agent-quizzed-potential-big-transfer-liverpool-says-reds-sign-player-deal-good-enough/) offer far lower than that amount.

### The lowdown on Otavio

The Brazilian has scored 19 goals and provided 49 assists in [188 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/otavio/leistungsdaten/spieler/231289) for Porto. He has also showcased [significant versatility](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/otavio/leistungsdaten/spieler/231289) over the course of his career, operating as a central and attacking midfielder, right and left midfielder and even as a secondary striker.

The 26-year-old’s average [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/177/Tournaments/21/Seasons/8315/Stages/18842/PlayerStatistics/Portugal-Liga-NOS-2020-2021) rating of 7.4/10 was the second-highest in the Portuguese top-flight last season, only behind Sporting’s Pote.

Liverpool have already got their summer business underway with the [£36m](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/ibrahima-konat-signs-36m-liverpool-deal-k0w6ccj03#:~:text=J%C3%BCrgen%20Klopp%20has%20finalised%20Liverpool's,RB%20Leipzig%20defender%20Ibrahima%20Konat%C3%A9.) signing of centre-back Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

Fan feed [The Anfield Talk](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldTalk/status/1411828543630327810) relayed Oliveira’s comments, and here’s how supporters reacted. Despite Otavio’s decent scoring and performance figures, many Kopites felt rather underwhelmed by the interest in him – a couple of fans drew comparisons with [Manchester United’s advancing pursuit](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1411809536634204162) of the [prodigious](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2861180-rennes-sensation-eduardo-camavinga-is-a-new-kind-of-16-year-old-footballer) Eduardo Camavinga, who plays in the [same position](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eduardo-camavinga/profil/spieler/640428) as Otavio.
