Though contracted to Juventus, he is expected to make a permanent switch to his loan club as there was a buy-out clause inserted into his temporary deal, and Atalanta are then plotting to swiftly sell him on for a profit \[[Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1450564/Liverpool-transfer-news-43m-bid-Manchester-United-Cristian-Romero-Juventus-Atalanta)\].

Manchester United are also rumoured to be interested in securing his services. However, Liverpool have emerged as favourites for his signature in a deal that could be worth around £43 million \[[We All Follow United](https://weallfollowunited.com/2021/06/17/liverpool-prepare-43m-offer-for-manchester-united-target-cristian-romero/)\].

As you can imagine, loads of Liverpool diehards took to Twitter to share their thoughts upon hearing these latest developments, as one supporter suspects Romero could replace Joel Matip after [another season of injury troubles](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joel-matip/verletzungen/spieler/82105).
