# Liverpool: Fans react to Gabriel Agbonlahor comments

**Former Premier League striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has said that Liverpool’s squad depth is a major concern.**

Writing in his [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/937209/ronaldo-man-utd-liverpool-chelsea-grealish-agbonlahor/) column, the 34-year-old described the Reds as a ‘top team’ but said that injuries would leave them in ‘big trouble’ because they have the bench of a ’10th-place team’.

### Do Liverpool find themselves light on options?

Liverpool made only one signing ahead of the 2021/22 season, bringing in central defender Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for [£36m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/transfers/verein/31). In fact, only six Premier League clubs spent less than the Reds over the course of the summer transfer window (via [Football Transfers](https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2021/08/which-premier-league-club-has-spent-most-money-2021/22)).

Jurgen Klopp’s side lost Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain on a [free transfer](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11820/12189637/georginio-wijnaldum-paris-saint-germain-sign-midfielder-on-free-transfer-from-liverpool) after the Dutchman reached the end of his contract and also [sold Xherdan Shaqiri](https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-shaqiri-move-to-lyon-three-year-deal/gw8y8byjmw6614ldw27s4mfjo) to Lyon.

Klopp appears to have little faith in his attacking reserves in particular, with neither [Takumi Minamino](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/takumi-minamino/leistungsdaten/spieler/165793) nor [Divock Origi](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368) seeing a minute of action across the first three games of the season.

### Liverpool fans hit back at Agbonlahor comments

Twitter an feed [Anfield Edition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1434473346620694530) relayed Agbonlahor’s warning, and here’s what some Liverpool supporters made of his verdict on the Reds’ squad depth.
