# Liverpool: Fans react to Gary Neville’s comments on Mohamed Salah

**Loads of Liverpool fans have slammed Gary Neville for suggesting that Reds forward Mohamed Salah is using the club as a stepping stone to Real Madrid.**

The Egypt international has been a sensation since he arrived from Roma in 2017. He has scored [90](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/148455) goals in 140 appearances in all competitions and already has 15 goals this season. Salah has won the [Premier League Golden Boot](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/349839-mohamed-salah-sadio-mane-premier-league-golden-boot) in both of his two full seasons at Anfield and won the Champions League last June.

The Manchester United legend told Sky Sports (cited by the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8042957/Gary-Neville-believes-Mohamed-Salah-using-Liverpool-stepping-stone.html)) that Salah is simply using the club in order to engineer a move to Real Madrid, in what came across as wishful thinking. Unsurprisingly, supporters were not impressed with his remarks and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan issued a plea for everyone to ignore him, while another described his comments as ‘salty’.

> Gary Neville doesn’t know what Salam’s aspirations are or where he wants to play. Players who leave Liverpool rarely go into better things.
