# Liverpool: Fans react to James Pearce’s latest injury update

**Many Liverpool fans have been reacting to a further injury setback to add to the club’s already overcrowded treatment room.**

The Athletic journalist [James Pearce](https://twitter.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1364682871911440388) revealed on Wednesday that U23s attacker Jack Bearne would not take any further part in the 2020/21 campaign after undergoing ankle surgery to repair ligament damage, which was picked up during a training session in Kirkby.

The 19-year-old has been a regular in the Premier League 2 after making his move up from the U18s last summer, scoring three goals and providing one assist from 11 appearances ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-bearne/profil/spieler/565419)).

Bearne made his first-team debut during his side’s 5-0 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup last season, to which he played just [25](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-bearne/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/565419/saison/2019/wettbewerb/CGB/verein/31) minutes.

With this in mind, and with the current injury headache that manager Jurgen Klopp is putting up with, supporters started to believe that is a “curse” on the club.
