# Liverpool: Fans react to Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold England call-ups

**Liverpool trio Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson have [all been called up](https://twitter.com/England/status/1179742898562035712) to the England squad ahead of UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Czech Republic.**

It comes as little surprise that Gareth Southgate has selected the three players, particularly Henderson, who has been a regular for the Three Lions for years now and has won [53 caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jordan-henderson/nationalmannschaft/spieler/61651).

Alexander-Arnold has beaten competition from Manchester City’s Kyle Walker to be selected as one of two right-backs in the squad alongside Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier.

As for Gomez, his inclusion is perhaps a little more surprising given his lack of game-time for Liverpool this season. The 22-year-old has found himself behind Joel Matip in the pecking order at Anfield and has only made [one Premier League start](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joe-gomez/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/256178/wettbewerb/GB1/saison/2019) so far this term.

However, Southgate appears to rate the former Charlton Athletic man, whose [seven England caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joe-gomez/nationalmannschaft/spieler/256178) have all come under the management of the 49-year-old.

Many Liverpool fans were quick to react to the announcement that three of their players had been selected for England, with most congratulating them on their call-ups.

There were some, though, who expressed their concerns about the potential of the Reds players picking up knocks while away, while one fan felt that two other England internationals in [Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-oxlade-chamberlain/profil/spieler/143424) and [Adam Lallana](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adam-lallana/profil/spieler/43530) should have been called up alongside the trio.

Here is what some supporters had to say…

> best of luck for your international commitment, lads!\

> Damm, I was hoping it was henderson only. Injury won’t be much a worry here. I pray gomez does not sustain injury again. This will be a huge loss🙈🙈🙈
