# Liverpool: Fans react to Kalidou Koulibaly update

**Some Liverpool fans have been providing their thoughts on former target Kalidou Koulibaly, following an update on his price tag.**

The 29-year-old has arguably been one of the standout centre-backs in Europe in recent years, proving to be a formidable performer for Napoli.

The Senegalese star has been [linked (Sport Witness)](https://sportwitness.co.uk/sensational-journalist-says-liverpool-offering-e70-75m-player-enough-january-move/) with a big-money move to Liverpool this season, but he has stayed put with the Serie A giants.

It is now claimed that Koulibaly could be available for a cut-price fee this summer, with [*Il Roma*](https://www.ilroma.net/) \[vi [*Tutto Napoli*](https://www.tuttonapoli.net/calciomercato/i-il-roma-i-koulibaly-in-uscita-tre-club-su-di-lui-adl-ha-fissato-il-prezzo-464005)\] saying he could be available for £43million at the end of the season.

The defender’s current Napoli deal doesn’t [expire](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kalidou-koulibaly/profil/spieler/93128) until the summer of 2023, but it appears as though his age could be playing a part in him now being cheaper.

Koulibaly turns 30 this summer, like Virgil van Dijk, so it may be hard to envisage Jurgen Klopp seeing him as a long-term addition to his squad.
