# Liverpool: Fans react to Nat Phillips exit rumour

**A number of Liverpool supporters have called for Nathaniel Phillips to be sold by the club, following rumoured interest from Serie A giants Napoli.**

The 24-year-old became something of a cult hero last season, filling the centre-back void left by injured trio Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

In the end, Phillips played a big part in Liverpool sealing an unlikely third-placed finish in the Premier League, [starting 15 games](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/381527/History/Nathaniel-Phillips) in the top flight.
