# Liverpool: Fans swoon over footage of Thiago Alcantara in action for Spain

**Thiago Alcantara stood out during Spain’s UEFA Nations League match against Germany last night.**

The match ended 1-1 after a late goal from Jose Gaya cancelled out Timo Werner’s opener for the home side. His close-range goal in the dying seconds of the match was enough to snaffle a point for Spain after a hard-fought draw.

However, some Liverpool fans had their sights set on another part of the match. Twitter fan account [@LFCTransferRoom has posted](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1301633821180334081) a clip of transfer target Thiago making an audacious long-range pass without even looking.

Despite not playing a direct hand in his country’s goal, the midfielder earned a [Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/germany-spain/YTbslUb) of 7.6 after completing 93% of his passes and 13/15 accurate long balls. Thiago also won two tackles and was successful in three of his four attempted dribbles, which was the most out of any player in the match (via [FotMob](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3287078/lineup/germany-vs-spain?date=20200903)).

Keeping a close eye on their main transfer target, loads of Reds fans have flocked to the video to laud praise on the 29-year-old. One supporter has described Thiago as ‘superhuman’, whilst another said that Liverpool ‘need this kind of creativity’ in their midfield.
