**Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has challenged some of the club’s youngsters and fringe players to show why he shouldn’t dip into the transfer market \[[Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopp-issues-challenge-liverpool-24538268)\].**

Making recruitment inroads, the Reds have welcomed the solitary addition of former RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate into the Anfield ranks \[[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/transfers/verein/31)\].

Despite this, German boss Klopp has signified that there will be little movement from here on out in the window \[[Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopp-issues-challenge-liverpool-24538268)\].

Moreover, the 54-year-old has specifically challenged youngsters Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot, Rhys Williams and Mateusz Musialowski alongside senior fringe men Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino to step up and demonstrate why he shouldn’t open the chequebook this summer \[[Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopp-issues-challenge-liverpool-24538268)\].

Frustrated at the lack of arrivals ahead of 2021/22, many Liverpool diehards took to Twitter to express their dismay at recent developments.
