# Liverpool: Fans react to transfer battle with Manchester United for Kai Havertz

**Lots of Liverpool fans have been reacting to some transfer news, as the Reds are reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.**

According to [The Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1227027/man-utd-transfer-news-kai-havertz-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-manchester-united), both Manchester United and Liverpool are plotting a move for the German midfielder.

The report claims both clubs have held talks with his representatives, but that Leverkusen have placed a whopping €100m (£85.1m) price tag on the 20 year-old.

Liverpool fans have [begged](https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/liverpool/liverpool-fans-urge-club-to-sign-kai-havertz-after-his-first-germany-goal) in the past to sign Havertz, with some even claiming he has the potential to become [Roberto Firmino 2.0](https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/liverpool/liverpool-fans-urge-club-to-sign-kai-havertz-after-his-first-germany-goal) due to his versatility in an attacking midfield position.

Per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-havertz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/309400), the youngster has already played as many as seven different positions in his career, including as a centre-forward and ‘second striker’, perhaps pointing to him as a future Firmino replacement.

This season, he has scored just [three times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-havertz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/309400) in all competitions, but he enjoyed a stunning breakout campaign last term with [17 Bundesliga goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-havertz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/309400/plus/0?saison=2018&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=).

> Liverpool being linked with a move for Kai Havertz. I’m not sure we necessarily need him but he’d be unreal under Jurgen Klopp.

> Makes sense. Effectively another Minamino but left footed. So can cover Mo whilst Tak will cover Sadio. Either could cover Bobby and provide compo for the Keita-Ox CM position. Win win – if it happens of course. Also a Nike athelete, lol.
