# Liverpool: Fans react to transfer links with Samuel Chukwueze

**Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Villarreal starlet Samuel Chukwueze, and it’s fair to say Reds fans are excited by the news.**

According to [Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/ligue-1/transferts/info-fm-l-ol-se-fait-refroidir-par-villarreal-pour-samuel-chukwueze_271358), Lyon are trying to sign the Nigerian speedster, but Liverpool have also entered the race.

A recent report from [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-transfer-targets-news-rumours/1ljbg0oqqjbwh1p4rk45t2sc7l) claimed the Anfield outfit are finished their January business but are weighing up attacking players for the summer, and having been [linked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/samuel-chukwueze-liverpool-transfer-news-16320878) to Chukwueze in the past he could perhaps be on the agenda once this campaign ends.

Valued at £27m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/samu-chukwueze/profil/spieler/401922), the 22 year-old has the versatility to boost Jurgen Klopp’s options in several positions, as he is capable of playing on both flanks, up front or even in an attacking midfield position.

Per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/samu-chukwueze/leistungsdaten/spieler/401922/plus/0?saison=ges), his most profitable position appears to be on the right flank, where he has grabbed 11 goals and five assists in 56 showings.

Plenty of fans have been sharing their thoughts on the links on Twitter, and you can find some of the best reactions down below…

> Now this guy is a proper baller. Under Klopp I’m sure he’d flourish, but I don’t think the rumours are true

> Lol just a day or so after we were talking about it haha. I imagine he’s on a list of a few that we’ve been tracking for a while. Far more probable than these Mbappe or Sancho shouts. I can’t see Klopp buying a £100m+ player unless someone big leaves

> Can JK get this deal done because I really like this kind of player. Fighting spirit and very forceful too and hungry for goal scoring and a team player too.
