# Liverpool: Fans go wild as Jurgen Klopp gives update on Alisson

**[Liverpool](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/liverpool/) manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that [Alisson](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/alisson-becker/) could be in contention to feature against Sheffield United on Saturday.**

The 28-year-old goalkeeper has been sidelined due to a [shoulder injury](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-goalkeeper-alisson-becker-facing-six-weeks-out-shoulder-injury-jurgen-klopp-a4563111.html#:~:text=Sport%20%E2%80%BA%20Football-,Liverpool%20goalkeeper%20Alisson%20Becker%20facing%20up%20to%20six%20weeks,shoulder%20injury%2C%20says%20Jurgen%20Klopp&text=Liverpool%20boss%20Jurgen%20Klopp%20has,to%20six%20weeks%20through%20injury.) that he picked up in training, resulting in the Reds’ second-choice stopper Adrian stepping in for duties.

In the Brazilian’s absence, the 33-year-old has conceded nine goals from two Premier League games ([Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/73399/MatchStatistics/Adri%C3%A1n)), including [seven](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54313270) during the Reds’ drubbing at the hands of Aston Villa earlier this month. Beforehand, Liverpool had a [100% record](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/114147/MatchStatistics/Alisson) in the league and made a perfect start to their title defence, but the injury to Virgil van Dijk may have thrown that into doubt.

Unsurprisingly, many supporters were excited at the thought of Alisson returning to the team, with the Reds in urgent need of some experienced faces at the back to cope with their [extensive injury list](https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php).
