# Liverpool: Fans respond to journalist update on Philippe Coutinho

Despite the interest from several Premier League clubs, the Reds are reportedly not on the list of potential suitors for Coutinho. In response to an Instagram post (relayed via [@AnfieldEdition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1272179636974354433)), Romano commented the midfielder is ‘not coming back’ to Merseyside.

Several reports have linked the 28-year-old to Liverpool, as well as fellow English sides [Newcastle and Chelsea.](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1286085/Chelsea-Newcastle-Philippe-Coutinho-transfer-Bayern-Munich) It was recently revealed that Barcelona would be willing to pay a fraction of Coutinho’s wage in order to sway someone to take him off their hands (via [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/06/12/barcelona-prepared-pay-portion-philippe-coutinhos-wages-leave/)).
