# Liverpool: Fans rule out plot to sign Kevin De Bruyne

**Liverpool fans have responded to a [plot](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/liverpool/liverpool-fans-react-to-jurgen-klopp-and-mohamed-salah-speaking-to-kevin-de-bruyne/) made yesterday suggesting that Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne should sign for Liverpool, but don’t think it will happen.**

The 28-year-old has become a critical asset for the Citizens since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015 for [£55m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33686731). He has been [nominated](https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/media-watch/2019/september/man-city-transfer-news-rumours-kevin-de-bruyne-everton-media-watch) for the Ballon d’Or for the second successive season.

De Bruyne found himself on the losing side as the Citizens lost [3-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50369640) to Liverpool at Anfield, with goals from Fabinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane sealing the three points for the Reds.

The Belgian international already has [two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kevin-de-bruyne/profil/spieler/88755) goals and [nine](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kevin-de-bruyne/profil/spieler/88755) assists during the current campaign, [replicating](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kevin-de-bruyne/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/88755) his form that he produced two seasons ago.

Despite the [plea](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/liverpool/liverpool-fans-react-to-jurgen-klopp-and-mohamed-salah-speaking-to-kevin-de-bruyne/) from some fans, others did not feel that it was realistic to sign the £117m man and made their feelings clear on social media.’

Here you will find some of the best responses from Liverpool fans:
