# Liverpool: Fans share no sympathy with Luis Suarez despite glowing comments about the Reds

**Liverpool fans have slammed former Reds fan favourite Luis Suarez about recent comments he made about the club.**

The Uruguayan striker was a [popular figure](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/barcelona-star-luis-suarez-reveals-17601403) during his days at Anfield and established himself as a modern-day club legend, as per the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/barcelona-star-luis-suarez-reveals-17601403). Suarez’s contract expires at Barcelona in 2021 after making the [£75m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28180600) move to the Catalan giants in the summer of 2014. The 32-year-old has scored 11 goals in 17 La Liga appearances this season and has found the net on 191 occasions and provided 107 assists in 270 outings for the club, as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-suarez/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/44352).

He also scored [82](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-suarez/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/44352) goals in 133 games for Liverpool and was notorious for making Norwich City’s lives a living hell whenever he came up against the Canaries. He told [OTRO](https://www.youtube.com/otro.) that the Kop faithful are some of the best football fans because of the love they shared during his time at Liverpool.
