# Liverpool: Fans slam Dejan Lovren after Spurs display

**Liverpool fans have launched a scathing attack on their Croatian defender Dejan Lovren after his performance during his side’s [2-1](https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2019/oct/27/liverpool-v-tottenham-hotspur-premier-league-live) win against Tottenham on Sunday.**

Second-half goals from Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah sealed the three points and made sure they got back to winning ways after drawing [1-1](https://www.skysports.com/football/man-utd-vs-liverpool/408067) against Manchester United in their previous game.

After maintaining their [six-point lead](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) at the top of the Premier League table, supporters found flaws in the performance that they quickly exposed in the form of the Croatian defender. He stepped in for the injured Joel Matip to feature alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence.

Lovren joined the club back in 2014 for [£20m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28492306) and has played 174 games during his time at Anfield, scoring [seven goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dejan-lovren/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/37838) and providing [four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dejan-lovren/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/37838).

Supporters were not pleased with Lovren’s performance and made their views very clear on social media. One fan said that he cannot wait until Liverpool are “shut of him”, despite the Reds getting the win.
