# Liverpool: Fans slam Naby Keita despite positive stats against Genk

**Liverpool fans have criticised the performance of midfielder Naby Keita after their [2-1](https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2019/nov/05/liverpool-v-genk-champions-league-live) victory at Anfield in the Champions League on Tuesday.**

The Guinea international was on the pitch for 74 minutes before being substituted for Andrew Robertson as the Reds climbed to the top of Group E as Napoli could only draw [1-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50309385) against RB Salzburg.

Despite the criticism that he has received, his statistics from the game suggest that he had a good outing for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The 24-year-old had [five (per WhoScored)](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/MatchStatistics/Naby-Keita) shots on goal during the game and was unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet. However, a few of his shots were bad connections with the ball and off-target.

He completed [one](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/MatchStatistics/Naby-Keita) key pass, [one](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/MatchStatistics/Naby-Keita) long ball and had a pass success rate of [94.3%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/MatchStatistics/Naby-Keita). Defensively, he completed [three](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/MatchStatistics/Naby-Keita) tackles too, which suggested that it was an all-round good performance.

Despite this, some supporters were not convinced and made their feelings clear on social media.

Here are some of the frustrated comments from Liverpool fans:

> Keita is awful. Way too raw for the premier league

> Not really. Not great tracking back , and looks sluggish. Doesn’t live up to the hype imo . Needs games , probably stating the obvious.

> Big pluses
>
> Ox, mo and Alisson back on form. Mo saving his goals for City. Alisson needed those saves mentally.
>
> Big worries
>
> Gomez, keita remain distinctly average and miles off their expected levels. They are more likely to be playing villa than being in qatar
