# Liverpool: Fans suggest the club signs Kevin De Bruyne amid Man City’s Champions League saga

**Loads of Liverpool fans have suggested that the Reds should sign Manchester City midfielder after their Financial Fair Play controversy.**

The Citizens were [banned for two seasons](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51510284) from the Champions League and fined €30m by UEFA for ‘serious breaches’ with the European governing body’s regulations. Indeed, the move could send shockwaves on football and the club look set to miss out on £170m, as per the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8005357/Manchester-City-banned-Champions-League-two-seasons.html). With the thought of their Premier League rivals not playing in football’s biggest competition, fans made a cheeky suggesting as to who Jurgen Klopp should bring in.

De Bruyne, who is valued at £135m by [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kevin-de-bruyne/profil/spieler/88755), has been hailed as one of the Premier League’s best players by [many pundits](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpQGDF90sTY) since his arrival from Wolfsburg in [2015](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33686731). He even revealed that he was a [boyhood Liverpool fan](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kevin-de-bruyne-liverpool-fan-15961942) who idolised Michael Owen as a child. Putting two and two together, supporters were quick to demand the Belgium international makes the trip down the M62 to Anfield.
