# Liverpool: Fans unhappy with Harvey Barnes news

**Some Liverpool supporters have been left frustrated after it emerged that [rumoured Reds transfer target](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/konate-in-wijnaldum-out-how-liverpool-line-up-2021-22/15u228yvu423p1puyveuucy6bg) Harvey Barnes is set to sign a new deal at Leicester City.**

Jurgen Klopp has had a [quiet summer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/transfers/verein/31) in the transfer market, with only two pieces of business standing out. Ibrahima Konate joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig early in the summer, while Gini Wijnaldum traded Anfield for Paris Saint-Germain.

It doesn’t look as though much more business is going to be done between now and the end of the transfer window, although Saturday’s 3-0 win at Norwich City would suggest that is no great issue.

One player who has been [linked](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/konate-in-wijnaldum-out-how-liverpool-line-up-2021-22/15u228yvu423p1puyveuucy6bg) with a move to Liverpool is Barnes, who has shone for Leicester, [scoring 21 goals and registering 15 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-barnes/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/398065/verein/1003) in 101 appearances and [netting against the Reds](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3429728) in a 3-1 win for the Foxes back in February.

According to [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2771264/2021/08/16/ornstein-henderson-liverpool-contract-bellerin-arsenal-exit-new-deal-barnes-leicester/?source=emp_shared_article)‘s David Ornstein, however, the 23-year-old is expected to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium, so the Reds will most likely miss out on him this time around.
